Dean Henderson has left Manchester United and joined Crystal Palace on a permanent transfer, signing a five-year deal that promises to keep him at Selhurst Park until 2028.

The goalkeeper has finally left Old Trafford after a lengthy 12-year association with the Red Devils, but made only 29 first-team appearances.

Henderson was given a run of games towards the end of the 2020/21 season and afforded an opportunity to displace David de Gea from the starting lineup, but he was dropped again in favour of the Spaniard for the following campaign.

After joining Nottingham Forest on loan for the 2022/23 season, Henderson suggested his Man Utd career was over. After starting this season as backup to Andre Onana, he has now signed for Palace.

90min understands that Crystal Palace will pay £20m for the 26-year-old. Forest had been interested in re-signing Henderson but ultimately did not follow up their interest, prioritising spending in other positions.

The Eagles have been looking for a new goalkeeper with veteran Vicente Guaita looking to force a move away from Selhurst Park.

Henderson will now compete with fellow England international Sam Johnstone for the starting spot.

On his arrival in south London, Henderson told CPFC.co.uk: "I'm absolutely delighted and buzzing to be here. I can’t wait to get started. This club has got great fans and has a lot of top players who are hungry to succeed. There's something being built here, and I really want to be a part of it."
