Manchester United continue their pre-season preparations for 2023/24 this week with a friendly against League Two's Wrexham in San Diego, California.

Erik ten Hag's team has already chalked up wins over Leeds, Lyon and Arsenal so far this summer. A number of senior stars returned to face the Gunners, but with United also in action against Real Madrid in Houston less than 24 hours later after this game, the squad will have to be split.

It will be a selection of the younger players in the 31-player squad that feature against Wrexham, although the limited numbers will still likely mean a few established names also play.

GK: Radek Vitek - With Andre Onana being saved for Real Madrid and fellow Czech goalkeeper Matej Kovar not making the trip, this could be Vitek's only opportunity for minutes.

RB: Brandon Williams - His United future remains very much up in the air amid the competition for places, but Williams will do his chances no harm with a good performance here.

CB: Harry Maguire - Looked shaky at times against Arsenal and could use a boost in confidence that won't come against Real Madrid.

CB: Victor Lindelof - Widely thought to be Ten Hag's third choice centre-back now, but there are few such options in the available squad.

LB: Alvaro Fernandez - Not involved against Arsenal but had shown promise in earlier outings against Leeds and Lyon.

CM: Daniel Gore - The 18-year-old has featured already in pre-season and has just signed a new contract with the club as a reward for his progress.

CM: Scott McTominay - There is a real chance Kobbie Mainoo is kept fresh for the Real Madrid game, such has been his impressive form this summer. That leaves a hole to fill in midfield.

RW: Facundo Pellistri - Likely wasn't going to play against Arsenal until Amad Diallo got injured in the second half. Needs to put down a good performance to stake his claim.

AM: Hannibal Mejbri - The Tunisia international has impressed this summer but he was left on the bench last time out and that suggests he won't get on the pitch against Real Madrid.

LM: Omari Forson - Played the second half against Arsenal, which was somewhat surprising considering the more senior stars who were back. Could get a start here.

ST: Anthony Elanga - Usually seen as more of a winger, but recognised strikers are on short supply until the club dips into the transfer market.
