Manchester United host Moldova's Sheriff Tiraspol at Old Trafford on Thursday night, with just a point separating the Red Devils from a guaranteed place in the Europa League knockout rounds.

The reverse fixture last month ended in a 2-0 United win thanks to goals from Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo. The big headlines this time is that the latter is back in the United squad after being unceremoniously dropped at the weekend over his behaviour during the recent Tottenham game.

But the question is will Erik ten Hag bring the five-time Ballon d'Or winner straight into the XI...

1. Man Utd XI (4-3-3)

GK: David de Gea - Ten Hag hasn't dabbled in goalkeeper rotation this season, despite able deputies in the squad.

RB: Diogo Dalot - Continues to cement himself at the club. Aaron Wan-Bissaka is close to being fit but wasn't providing much competition before.

CB: Victor Lindelof - A back-up in the Premier League unless injuries dictate otherwise, with European games his only regular chances.

CB: Lisandro Martinez - Raphael Varane is out and Harry Maguire is unlikley to start even if he returns to the matchday squad.

LB: Tyrell Malacia - Has lost his place in the Premier League to Luke Shaw, but four straight Europa League starts will become five here.

CM: Scott McTominay - Had a nightmare time on Saturday when he gave away a late penalty that nearly cost the game.

CM: Fred - Excellent against Tottenham last week but dropped for the Chelsea clash and so should be fresh.

AM: Bruno Fernandes (c) - This guy plays so much football that he should be dead on his feet by now. Has started 14 of 15 games in all competitions.

FW: Antony - The Brazilian has been a starter in both the Premier League and Europa League since he arrived from Ajax.

ST: Cristiano Ronaldo - Could walk straight in following his recall to the squad, with Anthony Martial out and Marcus Rashford in need of rest.

LW: Anthony Elanga - Could get the nod over Jadon Sancho, who has been poor in recent weeks, but he needs to start taking his opportunities.
