Manchester United know defeat simply isn't an option when they take on Galatasaray in Istanbul on Wednesday night as an early exit from the Champions League stares them in the face.

Erik ten Hag's side are on a positive run of form for perhaps the first time this season but the performances are still not scintillating. There will be a lot of nerves before this clash with a Galatasaray side that won 3-2 at Old Trafford earlier in the group stage.

The Man Utd squad is still ravaged by injuries with a host of potential starters out of the equation, but after a good 3-0 win away at Everton on Sunday afternoon, Ten Hag may not want to change too much about his team.

Here's the starting lineup he may choose to ensure victory for Man Utd away at Galatasaray in the Champions League.

GK: Andre Onana - The previous Galatasaray game was one of Onana's poorest performances at Man Utd but he has been impressive since and has a point to prove in the Champions League.

RB: Diogo Dalot - Aaron Wan-Bissaka seems to be Ten Hag's favoured right-back when fit but given Man Utd must win this game and Dalot impressed going forward against Everton, he may hold his place.

CB: Harry Maguire - Another clean sheet and strong performance from Maguire at the weekend will stand him in good stead to start again here, but he will need to play even better against Galatasaray.

CB: Victor Lindelof - Raphael Varane is fit now but there are rumours of a falling out with Ten Hag which suggests Lindelof may keep his place for this Champions League clash.

LB: Luke Shaw - The Englishman's return made a huge difference against Everton and given he managed 76 minutes, he seems in good shape to start on Wednesday night.

CM: Scott McTominay - His performance against Everton was not one of the best this season, but Ten Hag trusts McTominay and there are few other available options in midfield right now.

CM: Kobbie Mainoo - It may be Sofyan Amrabat here instead if Ten Hag doesn't want to throw too much at Mainoo straight away, but the 18-year-old looked totally assured against Everton and could be given the nod again.

RW: Marcus Rashford - There was fluidity on the wings against Everton so Rashford will likely pop up on the left too. His goal at Goodison Park, albeit a penalty, will have lifted a weight for Rashford and he will be desperate to build on it here.

AM: Bruno Fernandes - It was a good captain's display from Fernandes on Sunday as he handed Rashford the penalty to make it 2-0 and set up Anthony Martial's clincher. He will need to be even better on Wednesday.

LW: Alejandro Garnacho - It's impossible not to mention the goal. If he can produce a few more overhead kicks in Istanbul then Man Utd will be laughing.

ST: Anthony Martial - Rasmus Hojlund will surely start if deemed fit enough, but if not Martial will play. Scored his ninth career goal against Everton on Sunday.
