Manchester United have been offered a number of left-backs as they consider making a signing to cover the absence of Luke Shaw, 90min understands.

28-year-old Shaw picked up a muscle injury in training last week and could miss as much as six weeks of action after manager Erik ten Hag said he may be out for longer than Mason Mount, who is sidelined with a hamstring injury.

Understudy Tyrell Malacia is also a few weeks away from full fitness, leaving Ten Hag and United without a natural left-back for the first few weeks of the season.

The versatile Diogo Dalot filled in against Nottingham Forest - a game United came back from 2-0 down in to win 3-2 - but he struggled against the impressive running of Wales international Brennan Johnson and is naturally right-footed.

90min understands that a number of players have been offered to United as a short-term solution, with a loan until January under consideration by the club's hierarchy.

Chelsea's Marc Cucurella is one player that there's been contact over, with Tottenham's Sergio Reguilon and Barcelona's Marcos Alonso two other potential stopgaps who have experience of playing at the highest level.

All three are out of favour with their current clubs and would likely be allowed to leave if the terms were favourable, though whether or not Chelsea or Spurs would want to strengthen a direct rival remains to be seen.

As well as a potential incoming, there may be movement out of Old Trafford too, with Dean Henderson expected to join Crystal Palace in a deal worth £20m in order to pursue regular first-team football. He will undergo a medical in south London on Sunday with the intention of challenging current number one Sam Johnstone between the sticks.

90min understands that West Ham's move for Harry Maguire could also be resurrected, potentially in the form of a loan deal. A £30m deal was agreed earlier this month but the player could not agree a severance package with United, who have struggled to shift a number of players in recent months and years because of their high wages.
