Manchester United front three Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Edinson Cavani are all doubts for Sunday’s Premier League clash with West Ham at Old Trafford, which could mean a full debut for January signing Amad Diallo - just days after he scored his first goal for the club against AC Milan.

Rashford and Cavani both missed the Milan game on Thursday night because of existing knocks, while Martial suffered a problem during the game itself and was withdrawn at half-time.

Amad replaced the Frenchman for the second half and marked the occasion with his first goal for the club, connecting with a Bruno Fernandes through ball and looping an intelligent header over onrushing goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Rashford and Cavani probably won’t be fit in time to face West Ham at the weekend, while Martial is also now a doubt while his condition is examined.

“Anthony got a whack on his hip so there’s another forward we need to scan and look at,” Solskjaer explained, via ManUtd.com.

“I definitely hope Marcus is back for next Thursday in Milan. I’m not sure he’ll make Sunday but, fingers crossed, as we’ll need him. Edinson, I don’t think will be ready for Sunday, no.”

It potentially leaves Mason Greenwood as the only recognised striker in the first-team squad for the visit of West Ham. If none of the others make it back in time, the 19-year-old would likely lead the line and be flanked by Daniel James and the aforementioned Amad.

Greenwood has had a challenging second full season at first-team level, although the only goal he has scored in the Premier League so far was actually against West Ham back in December.

Amad is yet to make a domestic appearance for United but has now played from the bench in three consecutive Europa League games against Real Sociedad and Milan.

He has been an unused substitute for each of the last four Premier League games, while he was also on the bench when United faced West Ham in the last round of the FA Cup.
