Manchester United travel to Barcelona on Thursday night for the first leg of the two clubs' Europa League knockout playoff.

The Red Devils have been in searing form since a dismal start to the season but could only finish second behind Real Sociedad in their European group.

That failure saw them placed in the draw for this round where they picked out Champions League dropouts Barcelona, who are favourites to win La Liga thanks to 18 wins from their 21 games, losing just once.

Man Utd suspension news vs Barcelona

Man Utd will be without a couple of suspended players for Thursday night's trip to Catalonia. Lisandro Martinez picked up three bookings in the group stages, while Marcel Sabitzer has brought over a similar punishment from Bayern Munich.

No United players are walking the disciplinary tightrope this week, with Fred, Harry Maguire, Diogo Dalot and Luke Shaw the only other United players to pick up yellow cards.

Ten Hag still has another Premier League game in which he has to make do without midfield star Casemiro after his red card against Crystal Palace, but the Brazilian is eligible here as domestic suspensions aren't carried over into Europe.

Man Utd injury news vs Barcelona

United have performed brilliantly in recent months given their current list of absentees. The rarely used Donny van de Beek is out until the end of the season and Christian Eriksen got injured in the FA Cup, leaving Ten Hag a little light in midfield.

Antony, Anthony Martial and Scott McTominay have all stayed in England and not travelled.
