Even by Manchester United's standards, Thursday's collapse at Chelsea was unfathomable.

Erik ten Hag's men have consistently showed throughout this season they should not be trusted to keep a lead or even just their opponents at bay, but losing a game in which you were winning after 100 minutes? That's special.

The Red Devils actually fought well to come from two goals down at Stamford Bridge. There was little control in the game, but they were the beneficiaries of the chaos until the grandstand finish.

Here are United's best and worst players from the defeat at Chelsea, courtesy of 90min's player ratings.

Alejandro Garnacho - 9/10

Cole Palmer stole the glory in this meeting, but he has a near-mirror image in Alejandro Garnacho - another young player carrying the weight of expectation of a huge club on the decline.

The Argentina international came up with a fine brace to continue his remarkable season, taking his Premier League goal tally to seven in 28 games - no player in the United squad has more.

At 19, he is the present and future of United. For goodness sake, get this boy some help.

Honourable mention

Antony - 7/10

This might be the only time the words 'honourable mention' and 'Antony' feature together for a long while, so cherish this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

The £82m man started terribly at Stamford Bridge, conceding a penalty for a trip on Marc Cucurella. But from there, Antony completely dominated the left-back and put in his best performance of the season.

His shining moment came when he picked out Garnacho with a sensational cross with the outside of his left boot to put United 3-2 up.

Man Utd's worst player vs Chelsea

Casemiro, Enzo Fernandez

Casemiro - 3/10

When Casemiro wasn't busy getting himself suspended last season, he looked like one of the Premier League's best midfielders. That feels like a long time ago.

The veteran appeared every bit of his 32 years of age in this end-to-end encounter, being the chief instigator of a midfield battle which was absent of any serious midfielders.

A light jog here and there, a rash slide tackle here and there, an argument with Argentine Enzo Fernandez here and there. It was hardly a performance befitting of such a legendary player.

Dishonourable mention

Diogo Dalot - 5/10

Though he's been among United's better players this year, this is not a display Diogo Dalot will be keen to watch back at any point soon.

Having been switched over to left-back on his unnatural side, he was dragged infield and the vacant space down his flank led to Malo Gusto creating Chelsea's opening goal.

There was a notable moment later in the first half where Palmer completely spun the Portugal international, while he also conceded the late penalty, though this was a tad unfortunate due to a slip and the contact he made with Noni Madueke was so minimal it required a two-minute check.
