FROM TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR STADIUM - Manchester United were halfway to a Premier League win at Tottenham on Thursday night before throwing two points down the drain.

Jadon Sancho managed to break the deadlock early on, cutting onto his right foot and being afforded the time to wind up a shot to find the far corner of the net.

Just before half-time, Erik ten Hag's team had a second. Bruno Fernandes' long ball over the top was brought down by Marcus Rashford, who skinned Eric Dier before firing home.

But Man Utd collapsed after the break. Pedro Porro pulled one back for Spurs shortly following the restart and then Son Heung-min scored the decisive equaliser with ten minutes remaining.

A game of two halves, eh? Here were Man Utd's best and worst performers on the night according to 90min's player ratings.

Man Utd's best player vs Tottenham

Bruno Fernandes: 8/10

Oh, what could have been for Tottenham.

In the summer of 2019, Spurs battled Man Utd for the signing of Fernandes, with the Portuguese midfielder previously admitting he came close to moving to north London before it fell through.

Six months later and he was a Red Devil instead. On Thursday, he was the best Red Devil.

Fernandes was at the heart of everything positive Man Utd did, both in their dominant first half and even when they were meek in the second.

His only blemish is he rattled the crossbar from close range with the score at 2-1 after sitting Clement Lenglet on his backside.

Man Utd's worst player vs Tottenham

Fred: 4/10

There are two caveats to this pick. The first is that Fred was a substitute and only played around half an hour, the second is the tide was already against Man Utd when he was introduced and so Ten Hag should take some blame too.

Whereas starter Christian Eriksen was calm with every action, Fred often panicked and gave away possession cheaply, charging into areas of the pitch without thought and leaving Casemiro on an island by himself.
