There is the potential for a very interesting matchup at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon as a stuttering Manchester City welcome a resurgent Wolverhampton Wanderers to the North West.

The Blues are doing all that they can to keep pace with Arsenal at the top of the table but every performance seems to have a level of confusion about it. They got the points against Tottenham in midweek but they had to go 2-0 down first before waking up.

Wolves are enjoying life under Julen Lopetegui and they have risen to 16th after spending much of the first part of the season in the bottom three.

Ahead of this intriguing fixture, here is your pre-match information.

Man City team news

Owing to the ridiculous level of squad depth Manchester City have, the likes of Kevin De Bruyne, Joao Cancelo, Phil Foden and Ruben Dias were all left on the bench during the 4-2 win over Tottenham Hotspur. That means they could come into the starting lineup and add more firepower and freshness.

Erling Haaland was back among the goals which is a major boost for City coming into this one, so expect him to be there from the start.

Wolves team news

A handful of important players sat out the FA Cup defeat against Liverpool last time out and it is assumed that they were being kept fresh for this trip to Manchester. That means that Matheus Nunes, Max Kilman and Nelson Semedo may all come back into Lopetegui's starting lineup.

Man City vs Wolves score prediction

Everything is a bit chaotic with City at the moment and you never know if you're going to get the first-half display against Spurs, or the second-half display. There is also a very odd atmosphere after Pep Guardiola's comments at the full-time whistle on Thursday night.

It would perhaps be a factor that City played so much more recently than Wolves, but considering the depth that they have, they will likely be fine for fitness.

Wolves are certainly putting in much better performances under Lopetegui than they were before and they are unlikely to roll over for City on Sunday. That being said, the Citizens will surely have too much for Wolves over 90 minutes.

Prediction: Man City 3-1 Wolves
