Manchester City are aiming to seal their place in the Champions League quarter-finals when they take on FC Copenhagen on Wednesday night.

The Danish side gave the holders a brief scare in the first leg, drawing level in the first half after Kevin De Bruyne had given City an early lead. However, Pep Guardiola's imperious oufit scored twice in the second half to take a commanding 3-1 lead to the Etihad.

The Cityzens haven't lost a Champions League fixture on home soil in almost six years.

The hosts head into Wednesday's bout off the back of an impressive Manchester derby win during which their distinct superiority over United was once again asserted. Local boy Phil Foden was the hero as City overturned an early deficit.

Guardiola's side typically find their imperious groove at this point in the season and they'll be looking to bypass Copenhagen with little hassle in midweek. The Danes were beaten by Midtjylland on Friday night in a potentially decisive top-of-the-table Superliga clash.

Here's 90min's preview of Wednesday's Champions League round of 16 second leg.

Guardiola has just one injury concern heading into Wednesday's game. Jack Grealish, who's nursing a muscle injury, will miss out.

The Spaniard is set to make several changes from the starting XI that downed Man Utd on Sunday. Julian Alvarez, Mateo Kovacic, Manuel Akanji and Josko Gvardiol could all come into the team.

John Stones, Nathan Ake and Kevin De Bruyne are candidates for midweek rests.

Man City vs Copenhagen score prediction

If Copenhagen were to have any chance of progressing past the holders, they had to win convincingly on home soil. They didn't.

City's two-goal advantage will hand Guardiola the luxury to rotate in midweek and, while Copenhagen should offer a threat in transition, there's little to suggest they're capable of pulling off a minor miracle on Wednesday night.

The hosts should saunter into the last eight.

Prediction: Man City 3-0 Copenhagen
