Manchester City have so far made light work of the Champions League title defence, and they'll be looking to book their place in the knockout stages on Tuesday night.

Victory over Young Boys at the Etihad will see them qualify for the round of 16 after they won their opening three encounters in Group G.

Following their blip before the October international break, normality has resumed thereafter with Rodri returning to the fold. The Cityzens have won their last four games in all competitions, and they head into this one having thrashed Bournemouth 6-1 at the weekend.

Pep Guardiola will likely rotate his side in midweek, and here's the starting lineup he could pick.

GK: Ederson - Guardiola could swap his goalkeepers and bring in Stefan Ortega, whose proven his competence in between the City sticks, but Ortega's minutes could arrive once City's progression has been confirmed.

RB: Rico Lewis - Kyle Walker has been superb this season and he deserves a rest ahead of Sunday's trip to Chelsea. Lewis could get the nod and drift into midfield.

CB: Ruben Dias - Dias was an unused substitute on Saturday which means he's a banker to start on Tuesday.

CB: John Stones - Stones was withdrawn at the weekend and could start again in midweek. With Lewis in the team, he won't be asked to play alongside Rodri in midfield.

LB: Josko Gvardiol - Like Dias, Gvardiol's lack of minutes against Bournemouth means he should return to the starting XI for this Champions League fixture.

DM: Rodri - Will Kalvin Phillips get a rare start? No, probably not.

CM: Matheus Nunes - It's been a quiet start to Nunes' City career, but he'll likely get a chance to impress in midweek with Guardiola shuffling his midfield pack.

CM: Bernardo Silva - The always-available Bernardo could be rested ahead of the weekend after his brilliant display on Saturday. The Portugal international is in a rich vein of form.

RW: Phil Foden - Foden could play a myriad of functions if he does make the starting XI. The England international scored off the bench against Bournemouth.

ST: Julian Alvarez - With Erling Haaland unlikely to feature due to an ankle injury, Alvarez, whose dropped into a deeper position at the start of 2023/24, could lead City's line on Tuesday night.

LW: Jack Grealish - Everybody's talking about Jeremy Doku after his majestic display against Bournemouth, but Grealish is still pretty good as well, guys! The Englishman was superb in City's Manchester derby victory.
