It's only mid-August and Manchester City have already won their first piece of silverware. Okay, it's only the UEFA Super Cup, but it's still a trophy.

The Sky Blues beat Sevilla on penalties in the hot and sticky Greek city of Piraeus, but will now have to turn their attention back to the Premier League as they ready themselves for an enormous clash with Newcastle United this weekend.

Here is how Man City could line up against Newcastle.

Mateo Kovacic

GK: Ederson - The Brazilian wasn't offered a rest in midweek as he started ahead of Stefan Ortega, but will still undoubtedly feature in the starting lineup against Newcastle.

RB: Rico Lewis - Given Kyle Walker started against Sevilla, Lewis may be offered a way back into the starting lineup at the weekend. The youngster has just signed a new deal with the Sky Blues and will want to celebrate in style against Newcastle.

CB: Ruben Dias - Back in full training with City after his concussion, Dias travelled with his side to Greece for the Super Cup despite not being eligible to play. Should return for the clash with the Magpies.

CB: John Stones - Missed the Burnley clash with a hip issue, but was back on the bench against Sevilla and should feature at the weekend.

LB: Nathan Ake - Will face a battle with new signing Josko Gvardiol for his place, but has enough credit in the bank with Guardiola.

CM: Rodri - One of City's most invaluable assets, Guardiola cannot afford to rest the Spaniard against a confident Newcastle side.

CM: Mateo Kovacic - Has twice come in for the injured Kevin De Bruyne and will most likely start again. Already looks very comfortable in this Guardiola system.

RM: Phil Foden - Yet to quite make himself undroppable for Guardiola, but has shown his versatility and endeavour in recent games.

AM: Julian Alvarez - Will likely play just off Erling Haaland, picking up space in between midfield and defence. The forward satrted alongside the Norwegian in the clash with Burnley, but was dropped to the bench against Sevilla.

LM: Bernardo Silva - Should be okay to play after illness but could be dropped in favour of Cole Palmer following his wonderful recent performances.

ST: Erling Haaland - No doubts here. If he's fit, he starts...and normally scores.
