Luke Shaw has insisted that Manchester United will be aiming to win every competition during the 2023/24 season.

Man Utd are coming off the back of a thoroughly successful 2022/23 campaign under new manager Erik ten Hag - a season in which they won their first trophy since 2017, lifting the Carabao Cup in February after beating Newcastle United at Wembley Stadium.

The Red Devils are now looking to build upon that positive season, making a number of key additions in the transfer market in order to bulk up their squad. So far, United have spent big on goalkeeper Andre Onana, midfielder Mason Mount, and have agreed a fee to sign striker Rasmus Hojlund.

Speaking to MUTV ahead of the upcoming season, Shaw revealed that the additions to the squad this summer have led to optimism about winning more trophies:

"I think we're all really excited. [It's all been] very positive and of course, after ending the season in disappointment [losing in the FA Cup final], I think we've got a lot to improve on this season.

"Our aim from the start of the season has to be winning every single competition we're in and I feel like if we keep adding more strength to our squad, then why not?"

Shaw also discussed how crucial it's been for new signings like Mount and Onana to arrive during the club's pre-season tour of the USA:

"I think it's been quite nice for the new lads to come in because sometimes in the past they've come in after the tour and I think the tour is a good time to come [into the squad] because we're all together a lot.

"So it's nice for them to be with the lads and the staff and integrate and get to know everyone a bit more than when you're just at the training ground. It's been really good, really positive and I'm looking forward to one more game.''
