Real Madrid winger Lucas Vázquez is one of four Los Blancos stars set to miss Sunday's clash with Eibar due to injury.

The Spaniard has been an unsung yet vital part of Zinedine Zidane's side over the last few seasons, despite the presence of the likes of Gareth Bale and young star Rodrygo on the right flank.

The 28-year old had made 14 La Liga appearances this season before the league was suspended, with his side currently just two points behind leaders Barcelona, who face RCD Mallorca on Saturday evening.

Marca report that the three-time Champions League winner will, however, be unavailable for the club's first game back as La Liga gets underway, due a muscle spasm.

The right winger is not the only Madrid man to be on the treatment table, with Nacho, Mariano and flop Luka Jovic also missing Sunday's fixture.

Zidane's men had been in somewhat inconsistent form before football was called to a halt, losing to Pep Guardiola's Manchester City side in the first leg of their last-16 Champions League clash.

However, despite only winning two of their last five league victories, the club did claim a victory over rivals Barcelona in El Clasico back in March, giving them the advantage in head-to-head record come the end of the season.

Vázquez was a substitute in that fixture - as has often been his role under Zidane - but he will be hoping to push for a starting berth once he has returned from injury.

That being said, the wide-man may not be at the Santiago Bernabeu forever, as he recently discussed the 'very attractive' prospect of moving to the Premier League.

Before the summer window, however, Vázquez will be looking to help his side mount a title charge as the club go in search of their first La Liga title since 2017.
