Love it or loathe it, international football is back. We may only be several weeks into the new season, but club football is already taking a short break.

The joys of the international game will grace our screens for the next week and there is plenty to play for across the globe, with tournament qualification in full swing.

For Liverpool, however, the international break couldn't have come at a worse time. The Reds have been in great form since the season began, picking up ten points from four matches and most recently putting in a devastating performance during a 3-0 win against Aston Villa.

Such is the quality at Anfield, there is unsurprisingly a host of names travelling across the world to represent their countries, from Europe to South America to Asia.

These are all the Liverpool players on international duty in September and where you can watch them in action.

There are 16 first-team players from Jurgen Klopp's squad who will be busy over the international break at both senior and youth-team level.

While England will have no Liverpool representatives at senior level after Trent Alexander-Arnold dropped out with injury, Harvey Elliott will join up with the Under-21s. Ben Doak will also feature for Scotland's U21 side and will teammate Stefan Bajcetic for Spain, while Andy Robertson will captain the Tartan Army at senior level.

Elsewhere in Europe, Virgil van Dijk will also don the armband for the Dutch national team and play alongside teammate Cody Gakpo, with sides from across the continent playing in qualification games for Euro 2024. The Liverpool duo will face off against teammates Caoimhin Kelleher and Kostas Tsimikas when the Netherlands take on Ireland and Greece in Euro qualifying.

Deadline day signing Ryan Gravenberch was called up to the Netherlands' U21s, but decided instead to stay on Merseyside to acclimatise to his new surroundings - much to the fury of those in the Dutch setup.

Diogo Jota will join up with ex-Everton boss Roberto Martinez's Portugal, while new Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai will captain Hungary fresh from his first goal for the Reds against Villa. Ibrahima Konate had to withdraw from the France squad due to injury and may be out until after the international break.

In South America, World Cup winner Alexis Mac Allister will join up with Argentina in their FIFA World Cup qualifying matches, while Alisson, Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez will be hoping to take their early season form to Brazil, Colombia and Uruguay respectively.

Mohamed Salah will play with Egypt but only join his international teammates for their second fixture of the break - a friendly against Tunisia. Another new signing Wataru Endo will also captain Japan who face Germany and Turkey in friendlies.
