Liverpool are looking to put their disappointing 2022/23 season in the rear-view mirror with a comeback 2023/24 campaign.
The Reds massively underperformed on all fronts and will not even be competing in the UEFA Champions League this season having finished fifth in the Premier League last term.
Jurgen Klopp and his squad have work to do to restore their image. Here are some of their key dates to look out for in 2023/24.
Who will Liverpool play on the first day of the season?
It's the news that every Liverpool want wanted to hear at 9am this morning - their first game of the season comes away at Chelsea.
The Blues are coming off a campaign which was far more disappointing than the Reds', but they have renewed energy and hope under new head coach Mauricio Pochettino.

Who will Liverpool play on the last day of the season?
Liverpool will end the season with a home fixture against Wolves.
This might serve as a bad omen to the Reds, who faced Wanderers on the final day of the 2018/19 and 2021/22 campaigns in which they were pipped to the Premier League title at the very last by Man City.

When do Liverpool play Man Utd?
Liverpool and Man Utd won't meet until nearly the midway point of the season, with the Reds hosting their bitter rivals during December.

When are the Merseyside derbies?
The first Merseyside derby of the season takes place at Anfield in the first round of fixtures following the October international break.
Liverpool make the short journey to Everton in mid-March before another set of international games.

When do Liverpool play Man City?
If Liverpool are to win the Premier League title, they will likely have to go through Man City. Their first encounter with the champions comes during the last weekend of November, with the Reds heading over to the Etihad Stadium.
Pep Guardiola's men travel to Anfield in early March, one week before Liverpool's trip to Everton.

When do Liverpool play Newcastle?
Newcastle pipped Liverpool to fourth place last season and the Reds may have to leapfrog the Magpies in order to secure a Champions League return this term.
