Jurgen Klopp has confirmed Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo all sustained injuries during Liverpool's 4-3 loss at Manchester United in the FA Cup on Sunday.

The Reds' hopes of winning a quadruple came to an end at Old Trafford following 120 minutes of thrills in one of the FA Cup's greatest ever matches.

Scott McTominay gave the hosts a shock lead before goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Mohamed Salah flipped the tie on its head just before the break. Antony came up with a late equaliser to send the affair to extra-time, where Harvey Elliott's deflected effort was cancelled out by a Marcus Rashford goal before Amad Diallo grabbed the winner in the 121st minute.

In his post-match press conference, Klopp revealed three of his star forwards picked up knocks along the way to defeat.

"Now the boys go on international duty," Klopp said. "We hope they come back healthy. Lucho [Diaz] felt his groin, Darwin a hamstring. Cody twisted his ankle. They play again in four or five days, it's crazy."

Diaz and Nunez would usually have to fly halfway across the world and back to join up with their international sides, but the former's Colombia and latter's Uruguay will both play March's fixtures in Europe. Colombia face Spain at London Stadium and Romania at the Civitas Metropolitano in Madrid, while Uruguay take on a Basque Country XI in Bilbao and then African champions Ivory Coast in Lens.

Gakpo, meanwhile, will join up with the Netherlands squad ahead of their friendlies with Scotland and rivals Germany.

Liverpool will be hoping to their injured players and those carrying knocks will be fit when they return to Premier League action on March 31 when they welcome Brighton & Hove Albion to Anfield.
