Leicester City host their fellow Midlanders Aston Villa in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Both sides have endured underwhelming starts to the new Premier League season. Villa's hard-fought point against Manchester City last weekend may have earned Steven Gerrard a bit more breathing room but his former manager Brendan Rodgers is enduring a tough time with the Foxes.

A 5-2 thrashing at the hands of Brighton last weekend consigned Leicester to a fifth consecutive league defeat - their longest losing run in the Premier League since the final days of Claudio Ranieri.

Here's everything you need to know about the meeting between these slow starters.

Leicester team news

The two fullbacks Ricardo Pereira and and Ryan Bertrand aren't expected to recover from long-term Achilles and knee injuries in the near future.

Leicester's only outfield signing of the summer, defender Wout Faes, was unable to feature at the Amex last weekend because the club "didn't have the visa through in time", according to Rodgers.

Given he is joining a team with the second-worst defensive record this season (16 goals conceded in six games), Faes may be ushered into the backline this weekend.

Aston Villa team news

Leander Dendoncker failed to make his debut last weekend after arriving from Wolves at the end of the window while he nursed a minor illness. Diego Carlos has only just begun what is expected to be a lengthy absence after undergoing surgery on his Achilles in August.

Matty Cash was forced off with a muscular problem during the draw with City but was replaced by Ashley Young who produced a display that belied his 37 years.

Aston Villa predicted lineup vs Leicester

Aston Villa Starting 11: Martinez; Young, Konsa, Mings, Digne; Luiz, Kamara, McGinn; Bailey, Watkins, Ramsey.

Leicester vs Aston Villa score prediction

For all the doom and gloom hanging over the King Power, Villa haven't exactly breezed through the opening half-dozen fixtures. Only newly promoted Bournemouth have taken fewer shots than the struggling pair so far this season.

A goalless stalemate could be on the cards but Leicester have kept just one clean sheet in their last 29 Premier League matches. In a meeting between two underwhelming outfits, neither may earn the victory they both desperately crave.

Prediction: Leicester 1-1 Aston Villa
