Kylian Mbappe says he is keen to avoid adding "fuel to the fire" by talking about another chaotic summer transfer that saw him heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid and the Saudi Pro League.

The France superstar has long been a target for Los Blancos and is into his seventh season with PSG, with his current contract due to expire next summer.

Madrid recently denied speculation suggesting they had entered into negotiations with Mbappe over a potential move in 2024, though the World Cup winner is still heavily favoured to join the 14-time European champions on a free transfer.

Mbappe informed PSG by letter during the summer that he would not be extending his deal at Parc des Princes, leading to an omission from the club's tour of Japan and South Korea. He also missed PSG's first game of the season before being reintegrated.

The 24-year-old has since scored 13 goals in 11 Ligue 1 games, hitting a hat-trick in a 3-0 win at Reims on Saturday, and has also struck twice in the Champions League with Luis Enrique's side second in a tight Group F.

"Have I come to terms with my summer? The most important thing is playing football, you [the media] do the rest well," Mbappe told Prime Video.

"I don't want to talk about it and add fuel to the fire. I think there is already too much talk."

90min understands Mbappe is ready to give up on a huge loyalty bonus by leaving PSG. He rejected the opportunity to depart when Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal made a world-record €300m (£259m) bid in the summer. He did not entertain the interest from the Middle East.

Mbappe will hope to add another Ligue 1 title to his collection ahead of what is sure to be another turbulent summer next year, with PSG currently a point ahead of Nice at the top of the French top flight.

Over in Spain, Madrid are second in La Liga, with the goals of Jude Bellingham dominating headlines around Europe.
