Newly promoted Kilmarnock continue a hellish start to the season with the visit of reigning champions Celtic on Sunday lunchtime.

Killie have been lumbered with both halves of the Old Firm derby in their opening three matches of the campaign, losing 2-0 to Rangers last weekend as well as starting the campaign at home to last season's fourth-placed Dundee United.

Celtic have begun the defence of their title with a pair of convincing wins, leaving manager Ange Postecoglou "really happy with the result and the performance" of their 3-1 victory against Ross County last weekend.

Here's everything you need to know about the meeting between this duo.

Kilmarnock team news

Blair Alston scored the legend-cementing 90th-minute winner against Arbroath last season to send Killie into the top flight but is yet to feature in the Premiership while he nurses a calf injury.

First-choice goalkeeper Zach Hemming remains sidelined with a groin problem while Chris Stokes (hamstring) and Scott Robinson (heel) aren't expected to return for another couple of weeks.

Celtic team news

Reo Hatate came in for some rough treatment during Celtic's opening day win over Aberdeen and hasn't been able to shake off a muscle injury caused by that physical approach.

His Japanese compatriot Yosuke Ideguchi is also struggling with a leg complaint. The pair are expected to return by the end of the month.

Somewhat controversially, centre-back Moritz Jenz managed to avoid a second yellow card for the jubilant celebration of his maiden goal for the club last weekend.

Kilmarnock vs Celtic score prediction

Kilmarnock's midfielder Alan Power insisted there were "a lot of positives" to glean from last weekend's defeat to Rangers as his side "go into the Celtic game confidently”.

However, that admirable self-belief isn't quite so abundant outside Rugby Park. While they may well frustrate the Bhoys for long spells, Celtic so regularly find a way to goal, particularly with a player in the form Jota is enjoying.

Prediction: Kilmarnock 0-2 Celtic
