Tottenham survived another shaky display in the Europa League qualifiers to eventually see off KF Shkendija in North Macedonia and set up a playoff tie with Israeli side Maccabi Haifa.

Spurs made an uncharacteristically fast start as Son Heung-min picked out Erik Lamela in acres of space early on, with the Argentine finishing with ease.

The hosts made their guests pay for their inefficiency in front of goal just before the hour mark when Valmir Nafiu thumped home a rasping drive from just outside the box. However, Son soon rediscovered his shooting boots from his enthralling display at Southampton, giving Spurs the lead after Lucas Moura's shot was saved.

Substitute Harry Kane rounded off the scoring in the 79th minute, heading in from Son's cross.

1. Goalkeeper & Defenders

Joe Hart

Joe Hart (GK) - 6/10 - Competitive debut for the former Manchester City goalie. Could do nothing about the goal and didn't have a save to make otherwise.

Serge Aurier (RB) - 6/10 - Was decent enough. Looks like having some competition for a spot has actually done him some good. Probably won't be starting any Premier League games anytime soon regardless.

Toby Alderweireld (CB) 5/10 - Was pretty much nowhere for Shkendija's goal but didn't have much else to do.

Davinson Sanchez (CB) - 6/10 - Used his pace to snuff out a few Shkendija attacks. A relatively straightforward night for the Colombian.

Ben Davies (LB) - 6/10 - Actually ventured forward from left back, which was a welcome change of pace. He'll still be nervously looking over his shoulder following the arrival of Sergio Reguilon.

2. Midfielders

Tanguy Ndombele (CM) - 7/10 - More minutes in the tank for the Frenchman and he looked good, with a few turns to get Tottenham on the front foot.

Harry Winks (CM) - 5/10 - Hardly misplaced a pass during his hour long stint, but wasn't particularly effective. Also booked.

Dele Alli (AM) - 6/10 - Returned to the starting XI after a few games out of the squad. Really good movement off the ball, slightly wayward with it at his feet. Had a good chance saved in the first half.

3. Forwards

Erik Lamela (RW) - 8/10 - Gave Tottenham the fast start fans have been begging for with his fifth-minute strike. He just loves the Europa League, doesn't he?

Son Heung-min (ST) - 9/10 - Led the line fresh off his four goals against Southampton and teed up Lamela for the game's opener. Stuck in the rebound when Lucas Moura's shot was saved and also crossed for Kane's goal.

Steven Bergwijn (LW) - 5/10 - A pretty innocuous night's work for the Dutchman. Got into some decent positions but never looked particularly threatening.

4. Substitutes

Giovani Lo Celso - 7/10 - His introduction helped turn the game in Spurs' favour. The midfield partnership between Lo Celso and Ndombele is definitely one to keep an eye on.

Harry Kane - 7/10 - Came on and scored Tottenham's third to put the tie to bed.

Lucas Moura - 6/10 - Always busy, but not always in a productive sense. Fine.
