Juventus predicted lineup vs Milan - Serie A

Massimiliano Allegri's search for a maiden Serie A victory in his second stint at Juventus continues against his former employers Milan on Sunday evening.

A victory over Malmo in the Champions League on Tuesday momentarily (and marginally) reduced the criticism of a Juventus seemingly devoid of any coherent plan (there's some more).

Allegri has been in this exact position before - collecting just one point from his opening three games of the 2015/16 campaign - and went on to win the title by almost double digits. However, this time around the 54-year-old tactician is yet to settle upon a system or an established XI.

Here's what his latest concoction may look like in a bid to avoid equalling Juve's worst league start since humans first went to space.

1. Goalkeeper & defenders

Wojciech Szczesny (GK) - Without Gianluigi Buffon bouncing around the training ground, Szczesny's calamitous start - which is so blatant Napoli changed their tactics to take advantage of his spills - is set to go unpunished.

Danilo (RB) - A fleeting experiment at the base of midfield was brought to an abrupt halt by Empoli's first ever Serie A victory away to Juventus early this season.

Matthijs de Ligt (CB) - Yet to quite blossom into the world-beater after two years at the Harvard of defending (by Jose Mourinho's estimations) De Ligt is still a seriously talented defender.

Leonardo Bonucci (CB) - Four games in, Bonucci is the only outfielder to survive Allegri's rotation.

Alex Sandro (LB) - Missed as many games through injury last season (17) as he did in the previous five seasons of his Bianconeri career combined. When fit, the Brazilian is a certainty in the side.

2. Midfielders

Rodrigo Bentancur (CM) - Even Uruguay's languid midfielder hasn't been immune to the individual errors that have swept across the squad over recent years.

Manuel Locatelli (CM) - Going up against the club he first joined as an 11-year-old, Locatelli's rapid assimilation into his new side's midfield will be key to Allegri's success second time around.

Adrien Rabiot (CM) - Unpredictable both on and off the pitch, Rabiot has all the technical and physical capabilities to thrive in Turin, the question remains: is he bothered to use them?

3. Forwards

Paulo Dybala (RW) - Playing in what will undoubtedly be a fluid role, the early indications of Allegri's Juventus 2.0 have Dybala firmly ensconced as the side's attacking lynchpin.

Alvaro Morata (ST) - On the back of the most productive season of his career (an impressive 20 goals and 11 assists), Morata can act as a focal point in Juve's frontline.

Federico Chiesa (LW) - With each game, Juve's dynamic 23-year-old appears to grow in stature and importance for the Old Lady. Such are the club's woes, his return from injury will be greeted with relief more than excitement.
