The best football managers are the ones who can evolve as the game moves forward. As tactical trends come and go, they find a way to maintain success.

While he may not be the manager he once was, at least Jose Mourinho has added a proficiency of using social media to his vast skillset.

He's been a hit on Instagram since returning to the platform in February 2020, with his dry wit and petty antics going viral several times over.

So in honour of the Tottenham head coach, we picked his best posts and ranked them. Don't say we don't spoil you.

15. Safety first

Here's Mourinho getting a Covid-19 test before he heads off to play tennis in the 1950s.

14. Never good enough

Cor, he loves a moan ol' Mourinho, doesn't he? Even came up with a caption a Facebook mum would laugh at. What is he even eating? What mood is he expressing???

13. Sergio Reguilon's gift

Imagine that the £500 ultimately came out of Reguilon's wages.

12. Snow day Jose

"Nice and warm."

Hope you enjoyed your joke, Jose.

11. Relaxing in the car

"For the love of God sir, there's two seats!"

"I like to put my feet up."

10. Congratulating Son Heung-min

Mourinho wearing glasses is like Homer Simpson wearing glasses - they're intended to make him look smarter, but they just make him look funnier.

9. Post-derby mood

Worth a peak behind the scenes of Spurs' north London derby win against Arsenal in July just to get one frame of Harry Kane minding his own business in his briefs.

8. Grouchy Mou

Judging by the snow by his feet, it's apparent that Jose drifted into the spotlight for this picture.

7. Wasted chance

This post must have brought a lot of joy to rivals. Just look at the sadness in his eyes.

6. Lost in translation

"3 balls... The 3 goals we conceded against West Ham? The 3 amazing goals we scored against them? Or the 2 Europa leagues I have in the pocket and the 3rd one I am ready to fight for?"

"What?"

"Y'know, like, 3 balls... The 3 goals we conceded against West Ham? The 3 amazing goals we scored against them? Or the 2 Europa leagues I have in the pocket and the 3rd one I am ready to fight for?"

"Jose, what the hell are you talking about?"

5. Shots fired

Tottenham's game with Fulham in December was postponed just hours before kick-off, and Mourinho didn't miss the chance to express his annoyance.

4. Old man Mourinho

The irony of using a phone and social media to highlight how modern footballers are addicted to using their phones and social media.

3. Moving the goalposts

Part of me believes Shkendija purposely brought smaller goals just so Jose could upload this picture. Now they're immortalised on his Instagram feed, far more valuable than any trophy.

2. In-flight entertainment

Look at it. It's like a renaissance painting.

1. Not amused

What was on Mourinho's after Spurs' shock defeat at Royal Antwerp in the Europa League? The content.

Having a lot of fun imagining the conversation he had with assistant coach Joao Sacramento to get this picture taken, racing to the coach so they could capture this moment.
