21 years of age and a billion feet tall (roughly), it's easy to see why so many football fans are excited about Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite.

Once of Carlisle United in League Two and loaned out to PSV Eindhoven last season, the towering centre-back has been a revelation for the Toffees during the 2023/24 season and has, as a result, been linked with a number of Europe's top clubs.

So where should he go this summer? 90min takes a look...

5. Liverpool

The geographically smallest move Branthwaite could make, but the biggest and most controversial in every other way.

Joining Liverpool would not be well received by Everton fans to say the very least...even if going there in the post-Jurgen Klopp revolution at Anfield is tempting prospect for the defender.

4. Real Madrid

A Sean Dyche-moulded central defender earning a big money move to Real Madrid sounds like something that would happen in an alternative reality, and yet here we are: with a Sean Dyche-moulded defender being linked with a move to Real Madrid. And, rather amazingly, it would make a lot of sense.

Due to serious injuries to Eder Militao and David Alaba, Madrid have been extremely short of centre-back options all season, so going out and signing a young up-and-coming defender wouldn't be a bad idea by any means.

With Kylian Mbappe and potentially Alphonso Davies to pay for first though, it might be a move that's out of reach financially.

3. Chelsea

If there's one thing that Todd Boehly and co. love doing, it's signing a young defender.

And, right now, there's perhaps no better young defender in the Premier League than Branthwaite.

A move to Chelsea makes sense then, right?

In a lot of ways yes, Chelsea need to replace 39-year-old Thiago Silva at some point and Branthwaite could fit that bill.

In other financial ways however, the defender's reported £80m price tag may be a difficult hurdle when once considers the Blues' FFP concerns.

2. Newcastle United

He's the club captain, sure, but ultimately having to rely on Jamal Lascelles to play Premier League football for a club aiming to finish in the top four wasn't an ideal situation for Newcastle United.

Enter, Branthwaite.

A defender is more than capable of holding his own in the Newcastle lineup, and could form a formidable partnership alongside Sven Botman.

1. Manchester United

Yeah, it makes sense, doesn't it?

Manchester United's summer rebuild under new INEOS ownership will see the club, according to Sir Jim Ratcliffe, targeting young stars that can develop at the club.

Considering the club's pressing need for a fresh centre-back star and Branthwaite's tender age, the towering new England international couldn't fit the bill more for United right now.
