Inter host a resurgent Juventus on Sunday evening in a mouth-watering clash between Serie A's most successful clubs.

These giants of the Italian game have won 15 of the last 16 Serie A titles dished out. Inter intervened just in time to end Juve's laughable domination of the Scudetto by denying the Old Lady a tenth consecutive top flight crown last season. However, there have been a raft of changes in both squads and dugouts over the summer.

Some faces may be new but here's all you need to know about a rivalry as fiercely contested as ever.

Two matches into a sickening sequence of seven games in 22 days, Simone Inzaghi has been grateful for the lack of injuries peppered throughout his well-stocked squad: “We’re getting all of our players back and that’s key because you need everyone when you’re playing every three days."

Hakan Calhanoglu was the only notable absentee from Inter's Champions League squad that overcame a brief scare against Sheriff Tiraspol to secure the club's first European win of the season.

Juventus team news

Paulo Dybala

Paulo Dybala left the pitch in tears against Sampdoria at the end of September but initial fears of a lengthy absence have been dispelled as Massimiliano Allegri declared the Argentine 'will almost certainly be available against Inter'. Whether Dybala is tossed straight into the starting lineup is another matter entirely.

Juve's coach has been able to welcome back a glut of players after October's international break, including key personnel at either end of the pitch in the form of Alvaro Morata and Matthijs de Ligt, but Adrien Rabiot is a doubt after testing positive for COVID-19 while away with France last month.

Inter vs Juventus head-to-head record

So legendary and dutifully duked out is this particular fixture that the meeting of Inter and Juve was christened the 'derby d'Italia' - the derby of Italy - by the enduring voice of Italian football, Gianni Brera.

Inter's 2-0 win at San Siro en route to last season's Scudetto is the only victory they've recorded against Juve is the last four years across all competitions. The Bianconeri, as they do against most Italian teams, have come out more favourably in this matchup historically as well, boasting 110 wins to Inter's 72 across all competitive fixtures (with 59 draws).

Inter vs Juventus score prediction

Simone Inzaghi described the San Siro crowd as 'an extra weapon' after Inter's midweek win in Milan but the Nerazzurri haven't recorded consecutive Serie A victories on home soil against Juve since 2010.

Jose Mourinho was at the helm of Inter in that bygone era and, incidentally, became the latest victim of Juve's return to their parsimonious tendencies as the defeated Roma by a familiar 1-0 margin last Sunday.

In what is set to be an enthralling contest, Inter's red-hot attack may well be cancelled out by Juve's improving rearguard.

Prediction: Inter 1-1 Juventus
