Eric Dier has been offered to Bayern Munich and is under consideration by the German giants after a rave review from former Tottenham Hotspur teammate Harry Kane, 90min understands.

Kane made the move to Bavaria earlier this summer and he could be followed by his good friend Dier, who is free to leave Tottenham. Dier's current deal is due to expire in less than 12 months and new boss Ange Postecoglou has made it clear he is not in his long-term plans.

Dier has been offered around Europe and the world by Tottenham and their intermediaries. Fulham were one who were approached and they considered taking him as part of a possible deal for centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo, who Spurs are keen on signing, but Dier made it clear he was not keen and won't be rushed into anything.

Now Bayern have emerged as a possibility for Dier, who is seen as a possible candidate to provide defensive cover as the Bundesliga giants prepare to approve the sale of Benjamin Pavard to Inter.

Bayern do have other options, including Chelsea's Trevoh Chalobah, West Ham's Thilo Kherer and Southampton's Armel Bella-Kotchap, but Dier's ability to play in midfield is also a factor for Bayern as they are also set to sanction the exit of Liverpool and Manchester United target Ryan Gravenberch this week.

90min understands that Bayern's hierarchy are now considering Dier, who has been approved by Thomas Tuchel and who has also received a glowing reference from Kane after playing together for much of the last decade for both Tottenham and England.

Dier, who began his career in Portugal with Sporting CP, is known to be open to playing in Europe again and he could sign a pre-contract with another club as soon as January if he does not agree a move this week.
