Getafe will be looking to seal European football for next season when they welcome Atletico Madrid to Coliseum Alfonso Perez in La Liga on Thursday.

Jose Bordalas' side currently sit in sixth place, three points clear of Athletic Club, and a win for the home side could mathematically confirm their place in next season's Europa League, depending on Athletic's result against Leganes.

Mario Hermoso will be unavailable after his red card last time out against Real Betis. Kieran Trippier, Jose Maria Gimenez and Joao Felix are also doubts.

Predicted Lineups

Getafe: Soria; Nyom, Dakonam, Timor, Olivera; Jason, Arambarri, Maksimovic, Cucurella; Molina, Mata.

Atletico Madrid: Oblak; Arias, Felipe, Savic, Lodi; Vitolo, Partey, Koke, Correa; Costa, Morata.

Recent Form

The hosts have recorded just two victories in their previous 13 league games, scoring only eight goals in that time. This form has seen them drop from third to sixth and ended their hopes of Champions League qualification via the league.

However, the Azulones can still qualify via the Europa League, having knocked out last season's Champions League semi-finalists Ajax back in February.

On the other hand, Atleti have been in magnificent form recently, avoiding defeat in their last 16 games in all competitions.

Los Rojiblancos also have hopes of European glory this season, having defeated English champions Liverpool in the round of 16 of the Champions League.

Here's how both sides have fared in their previous five fixtures.

Prediction

With nothing but third place and personal pride to play for, Diego Simeone's side may prefer to take this one easy as they look ahead to their Champions League tie with RB Leipzig in August.

Nonetheless, it is difficult to ignore their impressive run of form, as well as the poor recent results of the home team. With Getafe struggling for goals right now, a notoriously stubborn Atletico side is the last team they would want to face.

Prediction: Getafe 0-1 Atletico Madrid
