Gary Neville laments Man Utd's attack following bore draw with Crystal Palace

Gary Neville blamed a lack of movement and urgency from Manchester United's front three for the Red Devils' disappointing draw with Crystal Palace.

The Red Devils made it three 0-0 draws in a row as they failed to move through the gears and break down Palace on a foggy night in London, handing Manchester City a 14 point lead atop of the Premier League.

Speaking after the match on Sky Sports - quoted by the Manchester Evening News - Neville pointed the finger at United's front three of Marcus Rashford, Edinson Cavani and Mason Greenwood: "I thought Rashford on the left, Greenwood on the right and Cavani in the middle, they all stayed in their spots".

He continued, citing a lack of movement: "When you watch the really fantastic front threes - and even this front three at times over the last few months when they’ve been at their best - those runs of diagonally running across each other, movement, there was no movement tonight, they were playing in straight lines.

"Gary Cahill’s not been moved out of his position all night. I didn’t see Mason Greenwood once make a run in behind him, I didn’t see Marcus Rashford make a run behind.

"There was no movement, no urgency and they were static," Neville explained, before discussing the impact it had on Bruno Fernandes.

The 26-year-old endured a lacking game, which the ex-United captain described as 'sloppy' before suggesting fatigue issues: "He’s not been at his best in the last few weeks, maybe it’s a suggestion that he’s run himself into the ground and that could be true."

The draw means United remain second, but still sit just one point ahead of third-placed Leicester who also dropped points on Wednesday.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side next face Manchester City, who could extend their lead to 17 points with a victory and are currently on a run of 21 consecutive wins.
