France will square off against Switzerland on Monday for a spot in the quarter-finals of Euro 2020.

Les Bleus haven't really stepped out of first gear just yet and come into this one on a run of two straight draws, having been held by both Hungary and Portugal in their final two group games.

They're up against a Switzerland side who booked their place here with a 3-1 win over Turkey and are looking to get past the round of 16 for the first time in their history.

Here's everything you need to know about the game.

France team news

The biggest conundrum for France is at left-back, where both Lucas Hernandez and Lucas Digne are expected to miss the game through injury. Didier Deschamps may be forced to turn to right-back Leo Dubois or midfielder Adrien Rabiot to deputise.

There are also minor knocks to both Marcus Thuram and Thomas Lemar to worry about, but neither look likely to play significant minutes anyway.

Swiss boss Vladimir Petkovic has no fitness issues to worry about for this one and can therefore field his strongest lineup against the reigning world champions.

The game could be an important one for Xherdan Shaqiri. The Liverpool man, who is already Switzerland's top scorer at major tournaments, is just one goal away from claiming top spot in his country's Euro scoring charts as well.

Prolific opponents in 20th century friendlies, France and Switzerland have faced off seven times since 2000, and the Swiss are still waiting for their first win.

It's not actually as bad as it might seem for Switzerland, who have held France to draws in four of their last five games, the latest of which came back in the group stage of Euro 2016, where the two teams played out a 0-0 draw.

France emerged victorious in the meeting before that, picking up a 5-2 win at the 2014 World Cup, while Switzerland's last win came back in May 1992.

Neither of these sides have been particularly impressive thus far, but it's France who will still come into this one as heavy favourites.

Deschamps' side started showing a little class in their 2-2 draw with Portugal, so they will be hoping that they are finally starting to put all the pieces together, particularly given Switzerland's reputation of causing problems for some of the big boys.

Switzerland shouldn't be ruled out for this one, but expect France to come out on top.

Prediction: France 2-0 Switzerland
