With three fixtures postponed in Gameweek 8, using the Free Hit chip has suddenly become a necessary option for FPL managers who have already used their wildcard and only have a handful of players available this week.

Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United are among the heavyweight sides not in action, leaving many teams short of a full complement of players.

But fear not. We put the Fantasy Football Hub My Team tool, with predicted FPL points to the test, in order to create a Free Hit squad that falls within the £100.0m budget allocated to players.

Here's who made the grade in the 4-3-3 formation.

FPL Gameweek 8: Best Free Hit Team

GK: Nick Pope (4.1pts) - Newcastle's number one goalkeeper has kept three clean sheets in six games this season and faces a Bournemouth side who have already failed to score on four occasions.

DF: Ivan Perisic (2.4pts) - Minutes are always a gamble for Spurs' most attacking wing-back, but the upside is high with two assists already to Perisic's name and his involvement in taking set pieces.

DF: Kieran Trippier (4.5pts) - Trippier has scored three direct free-kicks this calendar year - coupled with Newcastle's impressive defensive record, that makes him a smart pick for gameweek eight.

DF: Joao Cancelo (4.9pts) - Manchester City’s number seven loves an assist - check out how he supplied Erling Haaland's winner against Borussia Dortmund for evidence of that - and three clean sheets in six isn't a bad return either.

DF: Lucas Digne (5.2pts) - Aston Villa's form is erratic at best, but this weekend's home against Southampton represents a great opportunity to keep a clean sheet. Digne is also on corner and free-kick duty, most of the time.

MF: Kevin De Bruyne (6.3pts) - De Bruyne is the outstanding playmaker for Manchester City, and has fond memories of playing Wolves - he netted four goals at Molineux in the closing stages of last season.

MF: Gabriel Martinelli (5.0pts) - The value pick from Arsenal's dynamic attack, Martinelli is a player you'd back to capitalise on any defensive errors from Brentford.

MF: Miguel Almiron (4.1pts) - Traditionally not an FPL favourite, Almiron could represent tremendous value as a differential pick. No defence has conceded more Premier League goals than Bournemouth.

FW: Aleksandar Mitrovic (5.2pts) - One of the more consistent points scorers of the season so far, Mitrovic has a cracking chance to add to his tally against fellow Premier League new boys Nottingham Forest.

FW: Erling Haaland (7.1pts) - What more is there to say about Haaland that hasn't been said already? A shoo-in pick for every fantasy team across the land, the Norwegian already has ten Premier League goals to his name and has assumed penalty taking duties.

FW: Harry Kane (7.1pts) - With 17 Premier League goals in 14 career appearances against Leicester, Kane is coming up against his favourite opponent this weekend. Expect points and goals to come the England skipper's way.
