The FPL Gameweek 32 captaincy conversation is wide open, with plenty of names in the frame and not just the premium players.

Phil Foden and Cole Palmer stole the show in midweek with their hat-tricks for Manchester City and Chelsea respectively, rewarding their FPL owners with massive point hauls. Ahead of the weekend, who should we be considering for the armband?

I've picked out the top captain picks in conjunction with Fantasy Football Hub's powerful AI Points Predictions tool to show their predicted points for FPL Gameweek 32.

Mohamed Salah

  • Fixture: Manchester United (A); Predicted Points: 7.4

It may come as a surprise to see Liverpool's Mohamed Salah leading the rankings ahead of a potentially tricky trip to Old Trafford, but when you look at Manchester United's injury list in key defensive areas, there's bags of potential for this fixture.

It's a fixture Salah tends to perform well in, with 14 goal involvements in his last eight league games against Man Utd. Salah has plenty of routes to points given his goal and assist threat, plus he's also on spot-kicks.

Erling Haaland

  • Fixture: Crystal Palace (A); Predicted Points: 7.2

Having had a crucial rest in midweek, Erling Haaland should be fresh for Man City's trip to Crystal Palace, a side he's scored four goals against in two Premier League appearances. The Eagles are without a clean sheet in their last four games, conceding six goals.

Haaland has four goals and two assists in eight starts since returning from injury, which is somewhat below his very high standards. Despite this, he's posted a leading tally of 13 big chances on goal in this time, with another haul just around the corner.

Son Heung-min

  • Fixture: Nottingham Forest (H); Predicted Points: 7.0

Son Heung-min continues to play through the middle for Tottenham, providing enormous upside for those fantasy managers planning to back him with the armband. The Spurs captain is among the top form players in the game right now, with four attacking returns in four games.

Tottenham head into their game against Nottingham Forest as the heavy favourites, having won the last three meetings. Son scored in this fixture last season, while Forest are without a clean sheet in their last six.
