There were some tasty Fantasy Premier League point hauls picked up by defenders in FPL Gameweek 31.

The few managers out there who owned Diogo Dalot and Alex Moreno were laughing all the way to the bank, with only four teams managing clean sheets.

Here are the defenders you should be looking at in FPL this week.

Kieran Trippier (£6.2m)

Kieran Trippier is hardly an FPL secret at this stage of the season, though his returns from defence have dried up in comparison to earlier in the campaign due to Newcastle's recent struggles.

The England right back has a fixture against former side Tottenham, who have the worst defensive record of any current top ten Premier league team. He should be able to pick his former employers open in attack.

Craig Dawson (£4.8m)

We're going a bit retro for our next pick. Wolves have picked up two clean sheets on the trot, with veteran centre back Craig Dawson playing an important role in defence.

He loves a goal, too; who's to say the former West Brom and West Ham defender won't nod one in against Leicester on Saturday?

Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.4m)

Trent Alexander-Arnold had a field day on Monday night. Leeds were so generous out of possession and open in defence that the Liverpool defender could carve them open with ease.

The 24-year-old assisted the first and sixth goals in that thumping at Elland Road and could pick up more attacking returns as well as a clean sheet against Nottingham Forest, who have struggled on their travels.

Matias Vina (£4.5m)

Bournemouth gave their hopes of Premier League survival another boost with victory at Tottenham, that win being their fourth in their last six games.

Matias Vina was on the scoresheet in north London and upcoming games against West Ham, Southampton, Leeds and Chelsea could see the Cherries defender scoop decent tallies.

When is the FPL Gameweek 32 deadline?

It's a sneaky FPL deadline this week due to Arsenal's clash with Southampton on Friday night. That means you have until 18:30 BST that day to make any final tweaks to your squad before the deadline shuts.
