Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 28 is causing plenty of headaches for FPL managers across the world.

With the FA Cup quarter finals taking place this weekend, alternative options to stars like Erling Haaland and Aleksandar Mitrovic are needed if big points returns are to be enjoyed.

So who should we all be targeting up front for the reduced Premier League schedule?

Here are 90min's top picks.

Alexander Isak (£6.6m)

There's been some jostling between Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson for Newcastle's sole striker position, but the Swede's strike against Wolves may earn him another start at Nottingham Forest.

The former Real Sociedad forward has struggled with injuroies and fitness issues throughout the season but could be a real differential with a low ownership percentage across FPL managers.

Wilfried Gnonto (£5m)

Wilfried Gnonto is another alternative up front if you're a little strapped for cash. Leeds don't have many proven goalscorers and their clash with Wolves is expected to be a tight one.

19-year-old Gnonto has appeared as a substitute in the last two games but his assist last time out against Brighton might be enough to earn him a start.

Ivan Toney (£7.8m)

FPL managers who trusted Ivan Toney with the captain's armband in Gameweek 27 were rewarded with a goal and assist against Southampton after he blanked at Everton.

The England international has only been outscored in the Premier League this season by Erling Haaland and Harry Kane and upcoming opponents Leicester haven't shown enough defensive resilience to suggest he won't net again here.

The Bees do, however, still have to play Manchester United, Newcastle, Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester City in the run-in.

Harry Kane (£11.7m)

Harry Kane is the premium option up front for FPL managers this weekend, especially in the absence of Haaland, whose City side are in FA Cup action instead.

Kane has mustered 11 goals and eight assists in his 19 games against Southampton and showed no mercy to fellow relegation candidates Nottingham Forest last Saturday with two strikes in a 3-1 win for Spurs.

When is the FPL Gameweek 28 deadline?

The deadline this week is at the sneaky time of 18:30 GMT on Friday. Newcastle visit Nottingham Forest as the curtain-raiser for the weekend before five games on Saturday, including Spurs' trip to Southampton and Chelsea's Stamford Bridge battle with Everton.

Crystal Palace's trip to league leaders Arsenal is the only game on Sunday.
