The FPL Gameweek 15 captaincy decision is another wide open field.

Erling Haaland misfired in front of goal during Manchester City's 3-3 draw with Tottenham, who were led by spirited skipper Son Heung-min who scored at both ends. But who should we be favouring for the FPL armband ahead of the midweek action?

With the help of Fantasy Football Hub's powerful AI Points Predictions tool, here are the best captain picks for FPL Gameweek 15.

Best captaincy picks for FPL Gameweek 15

Son Heung-min

  • Fixture: West Ham (H); Predicted Points: 7.8

It's a surprise to see Son Heung-min pipping Erling Haaland to top spot for the captaincy decision this week, with a home game and out of position status enough to shift the odds in his favour.

After three consecutive blanks, the Spurs skipper managed a double-digit haul last time out at Man City despite scoring an own goal.

Those returns should help Son's confidence and he also has a good track record of scoring against West Ham, finding the back of the net in this fixture in the last two seasons. Spurs are still missing some key personnel but that means rotation is rare and Son is thought to be on penalties, though Tottenham are one of three teams to have not yet been awarded a spot-kick this season.

Erling Haaland

  • Fixture: Aston Villa (A); Predicted Points: 7.7

An away game shouldn't put Erling Haaland owners off awarding him the armband, as the Norwegian has managed 16-point hauls in each of his last two away games. He arrives at this fixture bang in form, with three goals and three assists in the last four gameweeks.

Aston Villa are without a clean sheet in each of their last eight games and face a tough test against the best attack in the Premier League this season. Haaland also has penalties in his locker and scored in this fixture last term.

Hopefully - for FPL owners but maybe not Premier League defenders - he avoids an FA ban.

Mohamed Salah

  • Fixture: Sheffield United (A); Predicted Points: 7.0

Mohamed Salah might be third in the AI rankings but remains top of the FPL scoring charts and is winning the race for the armband in my team as Liverpool travel to manager-less Sheffield United, who have the worst defensive record this season.

Salah has returned two goals and two assists in the last four gameweeks and is also on penalties, with Liverpool winning four spot-kicks already in this campaign. The Egyptian has blanked just twice this season, but both of those have come away from Anfield.
