FIFA has revealed the shortlists for the 2020 Best FIFA Football Awards, including Best Men’s Player and Best Women’s Player of the last 12 months, as well as the two coaching prizes and the annual Puskas Award for best goal.

The 2020 Ballon d’Or was cancelled by organiser France Football, meaning that FIFA will be presiding over the highest profile individual global awards this year.

The nominees for the Best FIFA Men's Player award, won last year by Lionel Messi, includes Liverpool trio Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Sadio Mane. Messi is once more nominated as is ageing rival Cristiano Ronaldo. Bayern Munich superstar Robert Lewandowski is an early favourite to win.
