EA Sports have unveiled the new 2022 World Cup update which will be coming to FIFA 23 on November 9.

Before the game's release, it was confirmed that there would be later updates surrounding the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and the 2023 Women's World Cup, which will be held across Australia and New Zealand next summer.

With the former now just weeks away, EA Sports have confirmed the new updates coming to FIFA 23.


Online Tournament Mode

In Online Tournament Mode, fans can play as any of the 32 qualified nations and battle for glory online.

Players will compete in the knockout stages of the tournament in search of global glory.


FIFA World Cup Live

EA Sports will update the real-time progress of the World Cup for players between November 21 and December 18, allowing them to play along with authentic fixtures and results.

Player injuries will also be included, ensuring the experience remains as authentic as possible.


Your FIFA World Cup

A single-player mode, Your FIFA World Cup will include all the real-word progress from every team, including match stats and past results, allowing players to take matters into their own hands.

You can start with the tournament's first game or at any later stage in the tournament.



FIFA Ultimate Team

Brand new campaigns will begin on FUT between November 11 and December 23.

Live player items will be unveiled which will receive updates based on real-life performances, in the same fashion as a Ones to Watch card.


World Cup Heroes

30 new World Cup Hero cards, with all-new artwork, will be released to FUT during the World Cup Path to Glory event, which will run from November 11-23.


World Cup FUT Phenoms

The top performers of the group stage will receive a new Phenom card by the time the quarter-final arrives.


Offline

An authentic recreation of the World Cup will be available in offline mode, where fans can play as any of the 32 teams and try win the World Cup.

The tournament is fully customisable offline, meaning groups can be changed and teams who didn't make it to the tournament can be inserted.
