Erling Haaland gave a quick response on social media to Arsenal's 3-3 draw with Southampton on Friday night.

Haaland's Manchester City side are chasing the Gunners down in the Premier League title race and were gifted another chance to make up the points gap with the draw at the Emirates.

Carlos Alcaraz netted in the first minute before Theo Walcott scored against his former club, with Gabriel Martinelli bringing it back to 2-1. Duje Caleta-Car's effort looked to have earned all three points for Ruben Selles' side, but late Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka strikes stole Arsenal a point.

Draws with Liverpool, West Ham and now the Saints mean Arsenal have a five-point lead over City having played two games more, with the sides set to square off in a season-defining encounter on Wednesday.

Haaland may well have had an eye on the game, posting a few pictures of himself training with City shortly after full time alongside the caption 'MOOD. STILL.'

City have an FA Cup semi final to deal with first on Sunday. Having recently seen off Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter finals, a clash with Sheffield United on Saturday represents the next step in their treble bid.

Haaland is expected to feature at Wembley on Saturday, though manager Pep Guardiola has a few fatigue and injury issues to address after the midweek trip to Germany. Nathan Ake will be rested with City still determining the nature of his knock.

Guardiola said: "I don’t know. He’s not ready for tomorrow but I don’t know the damage.

"I think this afternoon [Friday] they do the final test to see exactly what he has."
