Greater Manchester Police have confirmed they are investigating an image which appears to show Manchester City striker Erling Haaland using his phone while driving.

Haaland left the Norway camp earlier this month amid concerns over a groin injury he picked up in the FA Cup victory over Burnley and, after a trip to hospital in Marbella, returned to Manchester to manage the injury.

Two days before the game, however, Haaland was allegedly spotted with a phone in his hand while driving close to City's Etihad Stadium - a crime which can bring about anything from points on a license, to a fine and even a suspension if the culprit is a new driver.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed: “GMP is aware of the image and is investigating.”

This investigation into Haaland comes shortly after Cheshire Police confirmed that teammate Kyle Walker would face no action over allegations of indecent exposure in a nightclub.

A statement on Walker read: "On Wednesday 8 March, Cheshire Constabulary was made aware of a video circulating on social media in relation to an alleged incident at a bar in the Wilmslow area.

“Officers have now concluded their enquiries which included speaking to those directly involved.

“A 32-year-old man from Prestbury voluntarily attended a police station for questioning on 16 March. He has been dealt with by an out of court disposal and the matter is now closed.”
