Manchester United legend Eric Cantona has admitted he would be keen to return to the club to work under new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Widely heralded as one of the greatest talents in club history, Cantona won four Premier League titles and two FA Cups with United between 1992 and 1997 before hanging up his boots.

Now gearing up for a career as a singer, Cantona refused to close the door to a potential return to United under Ratcliffe, who he believes will have the Red Devils back competing at the top of the Premier League table soon.

In an interview with the Big Issue, Cantona said he did not have the time to be a coach, but could be open to another role.

"I am involved in too many things I really love to be a manager," he said. "In everything I do I work hard to give 100% so that I am able to have the confidence to enjoy it.

"So I don't have time to be a manager, but maybe something else."

Cantona continued: "For sure with Jim Ratcliffe I think we come back as the best. The way you drive the club is important. Ratcliffe, who is a fan of United since forever, is a great businessman of course, but is also very passionate about sport."

Since retiring from the sport, Cantona has been exploring other avenues in the entertainment industry. Skilled in acting and music, his new live album 'Cantona Sings Eric' is set to be released on March 29.

He may be away from the game in a work sense, but the right offer could see Cantona return to his beloved Old Trafford.
