England play their second Euro 2020 fixture on Friday night, facing auld foes Scotland at Wembley.

Gareth Southgate's men got off to the perfect start on Sunday, running out 1-0 winners over Croatia courtesy of a Raheem Sterling goal. That win wasn't enough to give them top spot heading into matchday two, although the Three Lions are surely in pole position to progress through to the group stage as Group D winners.

They come up against a Scotland side who showed promise in their opening match against Czech Republic, but eventually fell to a 2-0 defeat thanks to Patrik Schick's somewhat ridiculous brace. The loss leaves them needing a result against England, which should make for an entertaining clash.

Here's the England XI that should start.

1. Goalkeeper & defenders

Jordan Pickford (GK) - Still remains reliable for Southgate and England and, after keeping a clean sheet last time out, will feature between the sticks once more.

Kieran Trippier (RB) -
Kyle Walker's passing against Croatia should open the door to someone else, although that will likely come at left-back with Trippier shifting across.

John Stones (CB) -
Played well on Sunday and looked comfortable - Scotland will do well to get past the Manchester City man.

Tyrone Mings (CB) - Has started the tournament in great form and, should Harry Maguire require just a little more time in recovery, Mings is a shoo-in.

Luke Shaw (LB) -
With Walker dropping to the bench after an erratic showing against Croatia, it will be Shaw's chance to stake a claim to the starting left-back slot after a fine season with his club.

2. Midfielders

Kalvin Phillips (CM) - This man has to start. An all-round sensation against Croatia and even got himself a nickname from it. 'The Yorkshire Pirlo' could be integral to any success England have this summer.

Declan Rice (CM) - Wasn't as inspiring as his midfield partner but had a solid outing on Sunday and, if Jordan Henderson still isn't up to 90 minutes, Rice should start once again.

Mason Mount (AM) - Always capable of being the spark. He's become crucial for club and country, especially with his versatility - he'll start against Scotland.

3. Forwards

Phil Foden

Phil Foden (RW) - He's got the ability and he's got the hair. The stage is firmly set for Foden to recreate a bit of Gazza's magic. Make it happen, please Phil.

Harry Kane (ST) -
Nowhere near the standards we've - or even he has - come to expect of him last time out but, contrary to what he says himself, he's undroppable and will always be the talisman.

Raheem Sterling (LW) - Scored the only goal in his own back yard to make the whole country go bonkers on Sunday, and that alone should earn him another start this time out.
