Dominik Szoboszlai emerged as a talent of intrigue for Jurgen Klopp when RB Salzburg twice faced Liverpool in the 2019/20 Champions League group stages.

The Reds have tracked the Hungarian playmaker since, and finally decided to secure their man just before his €70m release clause at RB Leipzig expired.

While the Reds could yet make moves depending on outgoings, Szoboszlai is likely to complete the club's desperately needed midfield reshuffle following Alexis Mac Allister's arrival from Brighton. Klopp's two new shiny midfield toys are bound to embolden the 2019/20 Premier League winners next season as they attempt to improve on an underwhelming 2022/23.

The club will feel they haven't overpaid the odds to bring Szoboszlai to Anfield, and he isn't believed to have broken Liverpool's wage structure either.

Dominik Szoboszlai's salary at RB Leipzig

Information regarding the Hungarian captain's previous salary at RB Leipzig varies. Some claim he was making a mere £35,000-a-week, while others suggest he was on upwards of £70,000.

Either way, Szoboszlai certainly wasn't earning as much as he will on Merseyside.

Dominik Szoboszlai's reported salary at Liverpool

Again, there's some variation regarding the player's reported salary at Liverpool, although the range isn't as broad.

Szoboszlai is believed to have signed a five-year deal with the Reds worth somewhere around £120,000-£125,000-a-week. Thus, his contract pales in comparison to Mason Mount's speculated deal with Manchester United and Declan Rice's with Arsenal. The two England internationals are set to earn double Szoboszlai's weekly wage at their new clubs.

Should the reported figures be accurate, Szoboszlai will become Liverpool's joint-11th highest earner. January 2023 arrival Cody Gakpo is also believed to be on £120,000-a-week.

Fellow newbie Mac Allister, who joined for £35m at the start of the window, will initially earn more than the Hungarian after he penned a deal worth £150,000-a-week. Between the two new signings lie Jordan Henderson, Diogo Jota, and Darwin Nunez, who are all earning weekly wages of £140,000.

Mohamed Salah remains Liverpool's highest earner after the club offered him a lucrative new contract worth £250,000-a-week in 2022. Virgil can Diijk and Thiago (both earning weekly wages of £220,000) are the only other players earning more than £200,000-a-week.

Ibrahima Konate (£70,000) and Luis Diaz (£56,000) are on surprisingly low weekly wages, with Nat Phillips (£60,000) earning more than the Colombian who had an instant impact following his January 2022 arrival.
