Cristiano Ronaldo has criticised the Glazer family for their running of Manchester United in the latest teasers from his earth-shattering interview with Piers Morgan, claiming they "don't care" about the club.

United fans have come together in protest against the Glazers' ownership of the club a number of times in recent years, while their initial takeover was met with strong resistance when it was in process and completed in 2005.

They have come under criticism for not spending in line with United's commercial firepower, for not maintaining facilities - as Ronaldo has already pointed out in the interview - and for taking dividends out of the club at regular periods among other things.

"The owners of the club, the Glazers, they don't care about the club," Ronaldo told Morgan.

"As you know, Manchester [United] is a marketing club, they get their money from the marketing. Sports - they don't really care in my opinion."

Asked if he ever talks to the Glazers, Ronaldo said: "Never. Never. They give all the power to the president and the sporting director.

"The fans are always right. The fans should know the truth. They should know that the players, we want the best for the club, I want the best for the club, this is why I came to Manchester United, this is why I love this club.

"But you have some things inside the club which don't help Manchester [United] reach the top level, as [Manchester] City, Liverpool and even now Arsenal, for example.

"In my opinion it will be hard for Manchester United to be at the top of the game in the next two to three years."

The full interview is to be released on Wednesday and Thursday night this week.
