The Copa America 2024 prize money breakdown offers more money to the winning side than ever before.

The countdown to the next Copa America tournament is officially underway as 16 teams prepare to to battle for one of the most historic trophies in world soccer. After winning the 2021 Copa America, Argentina will look to retain their title against the other participating CONMEBOL and CONCACAF teams, including the host nation, the United States.

Before any of the teams can dream of becoming Copa America champions, though, they must survive the Group Stage and advance. As the competition continues throughout July, the best teams in the tournament will slowly start to face off until the final two meet at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.

Although there can only be one winner come July 14, the top teams in the Copa America 2024 will leave the United States with significant prize money for their efforts.

Copa America 2024 prize money breakdown

The total Copa America 2024 prize money is expected to be $23 million. At the end of the competition, the winning team will take home $10 million. So, not only does the victorious side get to add an international title to their trophy case, but they also will receive a generous monetary prize.

Although an exact breakdown of how much each team will receive is not yet available, we expect the $23 million purse to be broken down in a similar fashion to the 2021 Copa America prize structure. To earn a cut of the money, teams must at least reach the quarter-finals.

The teams that do not make it out of the Group Stage will likely not receive anything from the large prize pool.

Of course, the logistics of the prize money rollout could always change from now until the tournament begins in June, so stay tuned for more updates as the competition approaches.
