The Champions League returns this week as we prepare to discover the identities of the first confirmed quarter-finalists.

The first legs of the last 16 ties were all pretty modest - Real Madrid's 5-2 win at Liverpool aside - but the drama should be ramped up for a couple of decisive nights of European action.

Here's who's in action this week and how you can keep up to speed with the action.

Chelsea vs Borussia Dortmund

In case you haven't heard, there's quite a lot of pressure on Graham Potter at Chelsea.

Thomas Tuchel's successor has failed to endear himself to the Blues faithful with a horrible run of form of performances, but Saturday's 1-0 win over Leeds did at least provide them with a shot in the arm coming into this return leg.

Dortmund have shown a ruthless streak since the World Cup and have won their last ten games in all competitions, bringing them level on points with Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga.

Karim Adeyemi scored the only goal of the first leg and another tight encounter is expected at Stamford Bridge.

Benfica vs Club Brugge

This tie was very much the black sheep of the last 16 draw, not to diminish either Benfica or Club Brugge's achievements in reaching this stage.

It's advantage Benfica after the first leg. The Portuguese side came out on top 2-0 thanks to Joao Mario's penalty and a late strike from David Neres.

Scott Parker has struggled to find form with Brugge since joining them on New Year's Eve. The former England midfielder has even admitted he could soon be sacked - a Champions League exit may well hasten his departure.

Bayern Munich vs Paris Saint-Germain

There's been plenty of drama surrounding this blockbuster last 16 tie. Kylian Mbappe and Julian Nagelsmann traded barbs and Neymar has been ruled out due to injury.

Bayern Munich's results so far this season have been generally positive but they're involved in a tight Bundesliga title battle with Borussia Dortmund and have thrown in the odd inconsistent performance here and there.

They won the first leg 1-0, overpowering a Paris Saint-Germain side without a fully fit Mbappe. He could only appear from the bench but will start the second leg in Bavaria.

Bayern have won five of their last six games against PSG, but with Lionel Messi involved, the tie is far from over.

Tottenham vs AC Milan

Tottenham are on the brink of another full-blown crisis ahead of their return leg with AC Milan.

They somehow remain fourth in the Premier League but the FA Cup exit to Sheffield United prompted further criticism and they were again poor in the 1-0 loss at Wolves.

Milan's victory in the first leg formed part of a four-game winning streak for Stefano Pioli's side. However, that good form was snapped on Saturday as they were beaten 2-1 by Fiorentina.

Antonio Conte is expected to return to the Spurs dugout, just in time with Italian eyes sure to be fixed on the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
