Fans were treated to the return of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night following the conclusion of the World Cup.

England's secondary domestic cup competition offers the winners a route into Europe in the form of a place in the Europa Conference League play-off round.

Who has gone through to the Carabao Cup 2022/23 quarter finals?

Julen Lopetegui got off to a winning start as Wolves manager, progressing to the quarter-finals with a 2-0 victory against Gillingham. They had to be patient however, with Raul Jimenez opening the scoring from the penalty spot inside the final 15 minutes. Rayan Ait Nouri secured their passage to the next round in stoppage time.

Nathan Jones similarly picked up his first win as Southampton boss, coming from behind to beat Lincoln City 2-1 at St Mary's. An own goal from Gavin Bazunu saw the Imps take a shock second-minute lead, before a brace from Che Adams spared the Saints' blushes.

Proceedings were far more routine for Leicester, who booked their spot in the last eight with a 3-0 thumping of MK Dons. Yieri Tielemans, Ayoze Perez and Jamie Vardy helped the Foxes on their way.

Newcastle's quest to end their 67-year trophy drought continued with a narrow 1-0 win at home to Bournemouth, with an own goal from Adam Smith all that separated the Magpies and the Cherries.

On Wednesday, Charlton provided the biggest shock as they eliminated a Alexis Mac Allister-less Brighton on penalties after a goalless draw.

Manchester United avoided any upset against Burnley as strikes from Christian Eriksen and Marcus Rashford saw them to a 2-0 victory, while Nottingham Forest ran riot at Blackburn with a 4-1 thrashing.
