Team GB held on to top spot in their Olympics group and set up a quarter-final meeting with Australia after a late equaliser from Caroline Weir earned them a 1-1 draw against Canada on Tuesday.

Hege Riise made four changes from the side that defeated Japan last time out and the first half was fairly quiet. Team GB went closest to opening the scoring when Rachel Daly was slipped through by Jill Scott, only to be denied by a last-ditch tackle.

After the break the game sprung into life after Canada poked their noses in front courtesy of Adriana Leon, who finished clinically at the back post.

Soon after Weir nearly equalised, crashing an effort off of the crossbar and then the post. Ellen White - who also did not start the game - then went close, firing a snapshot just wide. Five minutes from time, Team GB would get their equaliser with Weir's shot flying past Stephanie Labbe thanks to a wicked deflection.

Elsewhere in Group E, Japan defeated Chile 1-0 which was enough to secure them third place and a spot in the next round. Team GB's next game will be against Australia in the quarter-finals.

Here are your Team GB player ratings from Kashima...

1. Goalkeeper & defenders

Ellie Roebuck (GK) - 5/10 - Had to be bailed out by Millie Bright following a near-fatal error in the second half. Other than that she did fine.

Lucy Bronze (RB) - 6/10 -
Far off her best. She was guilty of some loose touches in the final third and might have done better for the goal. Involved in the equaliser.

Millie Bright (CB) - 7/10 -
Impressive. She was tidy in possession and did all the defensive stuff well. Also a threat from set pieces.

Leah Williamson (CB) - 7/10 -
Read things intelligently for the most part. Also played some probing passes into midfield.

Demi Stokes (LB) - 6/10 -
Started strongly, driving her side into the final third and catching the eye with some nice touches and crosses. Questions might be asked of her for the goal, though.

2. Midfielders

Jill Scott (CM) - 6/10 - Started strongly. Looked particularly good going forward, interchanging positions with Parris at times. Taken off on the hour mark for a well deserved rest.

Sophie Ingle (CM) - 6/10 -
Got through a lot of work off the ball. In possession she did not provide much penetration in the final third.

Caroline Weir (CM) - 7/10 -
Could not get her feet set and allowed a huge chance to go begging in the first half. Made up for that by grabbing the equaliser, albeit with the help of a huge deflection.

3. Forwards

Rachel Daly (RW) - 5/10 - Heavily involved in the first half and had Team GB's best chance. However, she was sloppy at times. Hard to shake the feeling that she should have done more with the opportunities afforded to her.

Nikita Parris (ST) - 6/10 -
A tireless display but nothing really broke for her. Did look better after moving out wide to accommodate White.

Georgia Stanway (LW) - 5/10 -
A few excellent exchanges with Stokes down the left-hand side. Slightly wasteful in possession at times.

4. Substitutes

Ellen White - 6/10 - England looked a lot better with her leading the line, although the decision to rest her was a smart one.

Kim Little - 7/10 -
Made an immediate impact, looking creative and causing Canada problems as soon as she came on.

Fran Kirby - 6/10 - Great to see her back after missing the opening two games. An encouraging 15-minute cameo.
