Burnley's season doesn't get any easier this weekend as they host Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.

Sean Dyche hasn't seen his side win a game of football since late October, enduring a run of seven draws and four defeats across all competitions in the time since. The Clarets sit rock bottom of the table (albeit with games in hand) and face a Liverpool side gunning for a sixth consecutive win.

Jurgen Klopp's men are second in the Premier League table, having won their previous three league fixtures by an aggregate score of 8-1 - most recently comfortably seeing off Leicester 2-0.

Here's 90min's preview of this encounter.

Burnley team news

The Clarets endured a scare as they drew 1-1 with Manchester United last time out when Maxwel Cornet was forced off with injury. Dyche has since suggested the issue was cramp, so the forward should be fine to feature on Sunday.

Elsewhere, the hosts will likely be without Charlie Taylor despite the left-back edging closer to a return, while Matej Vydra and Johann Berg Gudmundsson remain out.

Burnley vs Liverpool head-to-head record

Unsurprisingly, Liverpool come out on top in this fixture from a historical standpoint. The Reds have won 58 of their 125 meetings with Burnley, while the Clarets have managed a respectable 38 victories - there have been 29 draws.

Recent times have very much gone Liverpool's way, however. Since the beginning of 2017, Burnley have managed just one win while the Reds have come out on top seven times in 10 encounters during that time - most recently beating Dyche's men 2-0 earlier on this season.

Burnley vs Liverpool prediction

To put it bluntly, Burnley are struggling and Liverpool are flying; there's only one realistic outcome.

Dyche's men do have their qualities; they will undoubtedly represent a resolute and, at times, frustrating barrier for Klopp's men to bypass while also providing a subtle threat with their physicality up top. The overall quality on show for Klopp's side, however, should carry the visitors through to victory.

Prediction: Burnley 0-2 Liverpool
