Brighton and Newcastle will bring Saturday's Premier League action to a close when they face off at the AMEX Stadium.

After a few tricky weeks, Brighton reminded the league what they are about as they came from behind to secure a 2-2 draw with Liverpool last week, but they remain on a run of five games without a win.

That's still significantly better form than that which Newcastle find themselves in. The Magpies are still searching for their first victory of the campaign and come into this one on the back of a 3-0 thumping at the hands of Chelsea.

Here's 90min's preview of the game.

Brighton team news

The switch to the 4-2-3-1 setup against Liverpool brought some solid results and Graham Potter could stick with that after managing to avoid any further injury problems during the week.

Long-term absentees Dan Burn, Danny Welbeck and Steven Alzate remain sidelined, but that's nothing new.

Similarly, Newcastle aren't nursing any fresh problems. Freddie Woodman and Paul Dummett are unavailable, but everyone else is fit and available.

There will be a lot of eyes on the goalkeeper spot, where Martin Dubravka will be hoping for his first start of the season after recovering from a foot injury to sit on the bench last time out against Chelsea.

Brighton vs Newcastle predicted lineups

Brighton (4-2-3-1): Sanchez; Veltman, Dunk, Duffy, Cucurella; Mwepu, Bissouma; March, Lallana, Moder; Trossard

Newcastle (3-5-2): Dubravka; Krafth, Lascelles, Clark; Manquillo, Longstaff, Hayden, Almiron, Ritchie; Saint-Maximin, Wilson

Brighton vs Newcastle head-to-head record

The 2016/17 season is the only point in history in which Newcastle have enjoyed facing Brighton. The Magpies did the double that year but have failed to win any of the other 12 meetings between the two sides.

Brighton are enjoying a eight-game unbeaten streak against Newcastle, including two 3-0 wins home and away last year.

Six of the players who started Newcastle's last win over Brighton in 2017 remain at the club today - Karl Darlow, Jamaal Lascelles, Ciaran Clark, Jonjo Shelvey, Matt Richie and Paul Dummett - which speaks volumes of the club's lack of recruitment in recent years.

Brighton usually know how to beat Newcastle, and it'll be a huge surprise if they don't draw on that experience to walk away with the win here.

Potter's men got some of their mojo back as they put two past Liverpool last weekend, and they'll expect to better that return against a Newcastle side who haven't kept a single clean sheet this season and are only narrowly ahead of Norwich City at the bottom of the league's defensive charts.

Don't rule out a goal for Newcastle, but they just don't look to have the firepower needed to live with Brighton.

Prediction: Brighton 3-1 Newcastle
