Arsenal return to action after the international break with a trip across London to face Brentford in the Premier League.

The Gunners will visit the Gtech Community Stadium in Saturday's late kick-off as they look for a third successive win in all competitions. Mikel Arteta's side managed a 3-1 victory over newly-promoted Burnley in their last domestic outing, but a clash with Brentford is likely to be a sterner challenge.

Brentford had been on an impressive run of form following three successive wins, but a 3-0 defeat to Liverpool before the international hiatus saw the Bees drop to 11th in the Premier League table.

Arsenal have already tasted victory away at Brentford this season, Reiss Nelson's early goal helping them to a 1-0 win in the Carabao Cup third round.

Thomas Frank's absentees include Ivan Toney, still suspended until January next year. One of his potential replacements Kevin Schade is sidelined until 2024, while the full-back duo of Aaron Hickey and Rico Henry will also be missing for long spells - the latter expected to be out for the rest of the season.

Nathan Collins misses out after sustaining an ankle injury on international duty with the Republic of Ireland.

Keane Lewis-Potter, Josh Dasilva and Mikkel Damsgaard are all nearing a return, although the former is the only one available to take up a place on the bench.

Having missed Arsenal's last three games and the international break with Norway through injury, Martin Odegaard returns to action against Brentford. The Norwegian has been a big miss for Arteta, with his comeback needed given Fabio Vieira is suspended and Emile Smith-Rowe absent through fitness concerns of his own.

David Raya is ineligible to play against his parent club meaning Aaron Ramsdale returns in goal, while Ben White is out with a minor injury. Gabriel Jesus is in the starting lineup having got a run out for Brazil against Argentina.

Arsenal predicted lineup (4-3-3): Ramsdale; Tomiyasu, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Odegaard, Rice, Trossard; Saka, Jesus, Martinelli.

Brentford vs Arsenal score prediction

Despite losing their first trip to Hounslow in Brentford's first-ever Premier League match, Arsenal have won their last two at the Gtech Community Stadium. They're also unbeaten in their last four meetings with Frank's side.

Arsenal should return to Premier League action with a win against Brentford at the weekend, although it's likely to be a tight affair. The Bees have struggled for clean sheets and the return of some of the Gunners' previously absent stars such as Odegaard and Jesus gives them the edge.

It won't be simple for Arteta's side, but they should get the job done.

Prediction: Brentford 1-2 Arsenal
